7/30 & 31 Steamboat Springs, CO
We arrived in Denver after some delays finally and got on the road to make our 3 hour trip up the mountains to Steamboat Springs. It never ceases to amaze me how gorgeous our own country is. Really. We have now been all over the world together, and what we have in our "backyards" can rival the most gorgeous places on earth easily. Colorado is no exception to this, it's just magical here. Maybe it's the mountains, the thin air, I don't know. It really just is incredible. Hadden caught this amazing sunset on the way in, of course, my little point and shoot isn't that awesome, so bear with me...

I'm from Florida, so I know a gorgeous sunset when I see one, and this was just amazing..
We stayed in a condo complex, it was AWESOME!!! Hot tub, outdoor fireplace, grill, indoor kitchen, we never get these kinds of luxuries on the road. Our first morning we made breakfast at the condo. It was like having roomates again! Awesome! Most of my previous roomates can attest that I can rock some eggs, I think it was a successful morning!

It gets pretty chilly at night here, so sitting outside by the fire was a lovely change from our hot homes in Texas and Florida. On Thursday, Ruthie and I did some promo while the band relaxed and adjusted to the altitude before our gig..
The first Steamboat gig was in a barn, but narry a horse had ever set foot in it. It was built just for parties, and what a party it was!

This is the view outside of the barn...

I think I would go into sensory overload if I lived here.. there's just too much to look at!
The gig went swimmingly. I did get some shots, even though it was a private party, Katie and I tried to stay out of the way.

And another gorgeous sunset..

We passed out pretty hard after the show. Most of us have lived on sea level most of our lives, so the altitude was kind of messing with us a bit. But we woke feeling refreshed, and ended up downtown shopping for some of the afternoon before soundcheck.. I love stimulating local economies... it's my pleasure.
Our gig at the Strings Music Festival in the Strings Pavillion was just incredible. It looked nearly sold out and the crowd was rowdy and singing. I got some pretty great shots of the band...

I know I always say this but it really was a special evening..
